In 2006, a few of us from the Dubai crew went to check out the skate scene in Amman. We met Mohammed Zakaria and the local skaters, and a friendship started that's still going today. Years later, Mohammed co-founded Seven Hills and we started Habibi. In 2023 we made a deck together.

What Seven Hills does

Seven Hills is a skater-run, grassroots non-profit in Jordan. They build public skateparks, spaces and programs for young people to learn, grow and give back to their community. They use skateboarding and art to bring people together across gender, age and background. Their programs are free, all year round.

Hakiem

A good example of what they do is Hakiem, the GOAT of the Jordan scene. He lived across the street when the park was being built in 2014 and volunteered on site. When it was finished he got his first board, started skating there, and joined the Seven Hills youth leadership program, where kids earn skateboards by teaching the new kids who show up.

He kills it in the park and the streets. If you see him, give him a high five. Just don't challenge him to a game of SKATE.

Thaqafa Street

The crew also put together an edit at Thaqafa Street, Culture Street in Amman, which is seen as the birthplace of skateboarding in Jordan. Worth a watch.

The deck

The Habibi x Seven Hills deck sold out, and every one of them helped fund their free skateboarding and arts programs. Thank you to everyone who picked one up. To keep up with Seven Hills or support their work, follow @7hillspark.

Be a habibi, support the habibis.
